3.    Curriculum

Joshua Springs uses Bible-based curricula that helps students develop a God-centered view of life by presenting God's Word as the standard for all truth. The curriculum, taught by a qualified Christian faculty, allows parents to provide their children with solid academic instruction that builds upon the Christ-centered teaching that students receive at home and at church.

4.    Expected School-wide Learning Results (ESLRs)

Using biblical principles, we seek to build up young people in four areas:

academically, spiritually, physically, and socially as outlined in our ESLRs.

5.    Attendance Policy

Reminder 1:   ALL secondary students arriving more than ten minutes late must obtain a Re-Admit Slip from the School Office.  Elementary students come to the office to check in and then go to class.

Reminder 2:   When a student has four tardies in a class for a semester, he or she will be assigned Detention for the fourth tardy.

Reminder 3:  When a secondary student returns from an absence, he or she must obtain a Re-Admit Slip from the office.  If a student goes to class without one, he or she will be marked tardy and sent to the office to get one.

Reminder 4:   If a student misses more than nine days of a class in a quarter, the student will receive an incomplete grade and must repeat the class another year.

Reminder 5:  It is the student’s responsibility to obtain missing assignments upon his or her return to class.  For absences of three days or more, work may be requested by calling the office at 365-3599.

See the complete Attendance Policy in the School Handbook.

Parents may report an absence by email.  Include your name, the student’s name and grade, and the reason for the absence.

6.    Traffic and Parking

Print this map to see the loading zones for elementary and secondary students.

8.    Uniforms

All students wear Joshua Springs Nunes brand uniforms.  Parents deal directly with Nunes apparel.   The Nunes traveling store visits the campus periodically for fitting and ordering, or parents can order online at the Nunes web site.  Purple Joshua Springs logo T-shirts are also allowed and are sold in the school office.  Please read the school’s dress code before ordering.

9.    Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT)

CollegeBoard for Students

As part of our secondary college-prep program, 7 & 8th graders are welcome to take the College Board Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test PSAT.  The PSAT is practice for the College Board Scholastic Aptitude Test that most colleges and universities require.  In 2003 84 students, 7th – 11th grade, took the test.  This year’s test is on Wednesday, October 27, 2007

10.                       Standardized Testing (SAT-10)

Each spring, every Joshua Springs student, K-12, takes the Stanford Achievement Test.  These are the average results for each grade in only four categories.  Please consult the office for more detailed information.
